Olympia es 95 typewriter carriage not moving. all key entries try to type in the same spot.

open your typewriter and muve prinre left-rigt, you have a prnters jam or power suply module is not ok too low dc voltage

electronic typewriters do not reverse. chang the cartridge.

Be sure the pitch selection is correct. If it is set to PS when using a 10,12 or 15 pitch wheel it will select incorrect letters.

Does the carriage move if you depress the tab key or space bar? Is there any pull on the draw band. Maybe the main spring is broken.

Sounds like the return lever arm is not putting enough pressure on the return clutch, or the clutch is slipping. The exp key uses the same clutch but the pressure comes from your finger. Theres no way you can fix this yourself. Get an IBM mechanic.

The carriage is touching the cavers it need the flat rubber washers that are between the case and the frame look at the bottom of the typewriter remove the screw slip in a new washer and replace the screw do the same on the other side

Mant portables have a lock to hold the carriage in place while in the case, on the rt. or left sides below the carriage.
