You need to reinstall your Web cam's drivers. If you have the drivers on a cd, reinstall them, if you dont have them, visit Acer's website, www.acer.com and go to the "Drivers and Support" page, enter your laptop model and the operating system you are using, then download the web cam drivers (Acer Crystal Eye) and install. That should solve your problem.
go to this site WIN 7 http://www.getdriver.com/notebook/256/acer-aspire-4736-windows-7-drivers-32-bit.html download the drivers for webcam 2736z unzip and runit restart the laptop WIN XP go to http://www.cyberindian.net/2009/04/26/acer-aspire-4736z-notebook-launched/ unzip and run it then restart it
acer aspire 5534 does not have a webcam..some models of acer aspire do but acer aspire 5543 does not. I have the same laptop and I am trying to figure out the same thing. The acer aspire 5543 has a webcam cover where a webcam can be put but it does not actually have a webcam itself.
uninstall the driver - access the Acer website - download the latests webcam driver and reinstall the webcam driver. If that fails go a full operating system recovery.
