I have a new four burner electric induction stovetop. A few weeks ago when cooking - the 'Hot' icon came on as expected. However we have been unable to remove it. Even when stove is not used for days - it still reads as hot. Nothing about this in the manual. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
We had the same problem with the Wolf induction stovetop. They came out and changed out a part and have never had that problem again. They said there was a problem on all units that came out earlier this year (2008) so if you are one of those, you should call them and have them change that out. But... I am also very frustrated about the inability to fry things on this unit. I don't fry very oftehn but it gives very unsatisfactory results, constantly shutting the heat off and then back on. Hmmm yumm.... soggy rare ahi- uncrispy chicken- anybody?? HELP!
I also have a one year old Wolf induction cooktop that is constantly shutting down after I try to cook on high heat. Not just "hi power" but "high". I can't cook anything on high without it turning off. It comes back on in a few minutes. I have to shuttle it between burners to cook on high. Wolf says it is an intentional designed-in safety feature to protect the unit. Somebody needs to protect them from me.
Like winochef said, it leaves your food sitting there in oil, getting soggy...

I had that happen once and it went off after a day. I'd suggest maybe turning off the breaker and wait a few minutes and turn it back on. But here's my problem for you. I got the 30" model in March, 2008. The problem I've had is that the induction units cool down and start cycling when I'm cooking something like bacon, or pork chops etc., ie. where you're trying to brown something or sear. They cycle up and down every couple of minutes, so its really annoying. They work fine if I'm boiling water for pasta or sauces, etc. Have you experienced this. I've been working with the dealer and the company and they say its a "software" problem, but they've haven't taken them off the market. I use All-Clad stainless steel pans so that's not the issue. Thanks for your comments.
Hello - Typically error code E on Electrolux induction cook top indicates an error with the user interface board/control board. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose/repair the unit.

My 30 inch wolf induction cooktop is no good at frying food. As soon as the pan gets hot the cooktoop shuts off the burner and just sautes my food. The factory is no help, they say it is operating as designed. What a piece of Sh..

wolf induction cooktop burner will blink cooking intermittently but not all the time. Correct cookware is being used.
