Ice freezing up on the evaporator

If the unit is equipped with 'auto-defrost' the defrost heater or its timer has failed.
Another possibility is a bad door seal.

Freeze's on bottom 12' on top 40'

Hello Paul Rorrer, thanks for your inquiry!

I see that your question is listed under Electrolux freezer. Please help me understand the question you are asking. Is it freezing on the racks? Or is there a frost buildup? I would recommend turning the temperature down to help alleviate some of the cold air building up inside of your freezer.

Additionally if there is a frost buildup I would recommend checking your gasket to see if it is in good condition. You can do that by using a dollar bill. Place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket. If you could provide me any more information I would be happy to assist you. -Matt

Factory reset for electrolux appliance

in order to solve a problem you need to understand how the device works. ideal for sensing the status of appliance doors
whether in the open or closed state (or for internal light). in the door under insulation (not visible) is a permanent magnet which switch on or off reed switch (usually on electronic). when the door is closed, the permanent magnet close or open the reed switch, depending what kind of switch is, normally open or normally closed. electronic received that information and because that (open door) stop the cooling fan. so, in your situation i would like to check that door is not hung up for some reason or try use an external permanent magnet. of course, reed switch should be checked also, because sometimes contacts may remain closed.

My Electolux freezer freezes things at the top but not lower down, why? Also the top has a huge and rapid build up of ice crystals.

Sounds like you have lost some of the refrigerant charge. when this happens the cooling coils only freeze partway and the unit runs most of the time due to lost capacity.

Food is not completely freezing in spots

This is a symptom of air leaking into the freezer. The most common place is around the door. Check the door really good to make sure something is not obstructing it from closing all the way, it may be closing enough to satisfy the ajar alarm but not enough for a bit of moisture to sneak in. Look for tears or breaks in the seal. If you put a bright flashlight inside the freezer and close the door, turn off the lights in the room you may find a leak that way.

Its not freezing!! keeping things cool, but not freezing

I would definitely start by checking if the fan is working. Note that the fan is switched off when you open the door, so you need to press the door switch and then check if it is working. If not, that will be the problem.

Not freezing equally

Look for frost build up on back wall at bottom the auto defrost may be out. Check if the evaporator fan is blowing. If not it's stuck by something or needs replaced. If not The sealed system may have a leak or restiction causing it to only work closest to the evaporator i.e. the lower shelf.
