I set it up with a usb keyboard and when i moved it home i turned it on and worked.Realized i forgot to plug keyboard in onboard.Shutdown did that and no video display.
Can the onboard keyboard have anything to do with it.Thats why i bought the pci express i unplugged my wireless keyboard cause it broke.Plugged my regular keyboard in turned pc on and no display..Thought my onboard display had gone.
Should i get a usb keyboard

Hi there,

When you installed the software, the first thing you should see on the monitor is the change in the resolution, contrast, hue etc and it should ask you if you agree or not.
The software comes with a manual and the manual should tell you what PC (windows Xp, 7, vista etc) is compatible for it.

thanks,

George.

Just trying to find out whether this computer will take a PCI sound card.

Hi,
The this particular model of the computer has one spare PCI express slot , where an external audio card can be put in. Open the the system tower and look for an empty black slot on the motherboard.

You can purchase a PCI express sound card .

You will have to go into BiOS and change the graphics settings from on board graphics to PCI, AGP, or Pci-e depending on what kind of graphics card you have. It will be one of the 3 listed, if your computer is relatively new it's more than likely PCI-e, If it's fairly old it could be one of the other 2.

Graphic card ati 1650 pci express on boot up stopped working

Either your graphics card has gone bad or - the PCI Express slot on the motherboard has failed. Alternately you could put the card in another computer and see if it works. you could take it to a local pc shop and have it tested. I work for TechSupportPros of Spokane, WA - I would test the card for free.

Blank screen after turning computer on

Sounds like onboard video might have gone out. 2 suggestions, if the system is still underwarranty, send in for repair. If not, suggestion would be to open the case, and confirm type of slots AGP, PCI, PCI Express, and purchase a video card on the type to install.

Can't get Picture on Monitor, replaced video card

Boot up into the setup, usually F2- in the video section look to be able to make a change from Onboard to PCI ...apply-save change and exit ...also make sure you have connected the monitor to the correct area...I , like a big dummy, have often just hooked it up to the first blue socket i saw and of course...not much happens.
I hope this helps you Fred, (if it came with drivers install them)

The video card may have a jumper next to it or it need to be reset in bios If you know how at start up prees F1 or F2 or Del one of these will open Bios in the bios menu you will see setup instructions on the side or the bottom follow them and save if you are trying to add a video card it should say onboard or pci slect pci then press esc on your keyboard then press F10 to save settings then restart pc this should work but check the hp website for downloads get the manuel and find out about the video jumpers.
