Time to purchase a new battery or new charging cord. You should make sure that when you plug the cord into the computer that it goes in easily. If it seems difficult to insert it might that something got stuck in the hole.
Get a meter and see if the laptop adapter is putting out 19 volts dc. Other than that it is a bad plug connection on the adapter plug or in the laptop. Examine the end of the plug to see if it is damaged or extremely worn and loose.
Try to isolate the problem first. See whether it's a laptop issue or an adapter issue. If the adapter has a light, see if the light is coming on when you connect it. Also see if the laptop works if you remove the batteries and connect the adapter.
There could be several issues here:
1. Your adapter's light may be coming on, but it still might not be delivering power to the pin. If you have a multimeter, connect it to the terminals of the charger and see if you get a voltage reading; if not, there may be a problem with the cable running from the adapter to the laptop or the adapter itself may not be giving the right voltage.
2. The second possibility is that the adapter is OK, but the laptop's power connector is faulty. This will require a technician to remove the old connector and solder a new one into place.
3. If both the adapter and the connector are fine, then the problem is most likely with your charging circuit, which is inside the laptop. This circuit powers the laptop through the batteries, and will once again have to be inspected by a qualified technician.
Hope this helps

This is probably either a bad power supply brick or a bad system board. Try to borrow a power brick from somebody else to see if this fixes the problem so you can isolate it as this is a much less expensive problem to fix.
If you have a travel charger, be sure to press the button on top to put it in charge mode.
