Try cleaning your filter if dirty there will not be enough flow to llet heater fire. If filters clean you can try jumping the pressure switch.

SOURCE: Hayward 250 heater won't fire up

Check the control circuit, specifically the pressure switch, for continuity with an ohm meter....any reading over 2 ohms needs to be investigated

Having multiple issues with a milli-volt heater very common and can be expensive to fix at times. Start by cleaning EVERY connection in the safety circuit and the pilot circuit. If you have a milli-volt meter that would help a lot.

Check the burner tube closest to the pilot side of the burner tray. Is it burning a nice blue like all the rest? If it is not, clean out the jet on the manifold in front of the tube.

If it is ok, can you get a millivolt reading off the generator (thermocouple)? If so, get the reading with just the pilot on it, then with the burner load. Finally, watch that reading as the burners run for a while to be sure it climbs.

The only other thing I can think of would be to get manometer readings to verify gas pressures before and after the valve.

Sounds like the pilot assy needs to be replaced. It has 2 functions one is to light the main burner but also to let the system know that the burner is lit. If it thinks the burners are not lit it turns the gas off

Heater won't stay lit

On your main gas manifold you have orfaces that screw into it at each burner. Remove these and see if their are small spider webs in them. They will look like little lint balls. They can keep your main burner from getting gas and in turn keep the heater from sensing flame. The pilot lights and the heater starts but no flame at the main will shut it rite down. See if this helps.
