After washing some bath mats that broke apart inside my maytag ensignia washer, it now does not drain all the way at the end of the cycle. Could it be clogged somewhere? How can I fix this?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and general guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Washer wont agitate, pops breaker

Could be the gears/transmission for the agitate cycle are jammed, the motor then freezers, creates an overload and the breaker pops.

Maytag ensignia top load washer will not fill with water at start of the cycle?

The drain hose has to be at least 30 inches above the floor or gravity will drain the machine. Also: If the water hose is jammed into the drain a siphoning affect will occur in some instances.

The washing machine isn't completing a cycle. It won't spin or drain or complete a sports wash, but ends the cycle after 2 minutes. The washing machine is less than a month old and is definitely not...

Your machine is still under guarantee. Contact the dealer who sold you the machine and make it his problem. Trying to do anything to the machine will void your guarantee.

Read a post from someone else on this - turned out it works fine, just wouldn't work with the small wet load. I added towels to the bath mat load, washed them, it spins fine. Washed clothes & that worked fine too. Yay!! Not broken. Just not found of small loads of bath mats!

Washer stopped at begin of wash cycle

The problem seems to lie in the rubber backed mat. If the rubber has begun to peel of the mat it often-times get stuck in the drain pump. The best thing to do at this point is to disconnect the electrical cord, open up the machine, drain out the water as best as possible disconnect the power cord to the drain and the hoses. Clean out the drain pump. reassemble. You should be good to go., Unless the drain pump is burned out (left running plugged up too long) if thats the case, replacement of the pump may be neccessary.... Hope this helps...Good luck!.... Clothes are still wet after spin cycle

possibly not a machine fault. if drain is connected to sink plumbing, remove the drain hose and see if it pumps out into a bucket.
