If you have a Wifi router or nearby wireless facility( subscribed) then you must go to the wireless networking setting in control pannel and set it accordingly
Try to redownload the software drivers at xerox.com.
Check the parameters, on the computers ( printers), see if they changed.
Check the menues on the 4150 menu selector for conectivity.
The procedure is 1st. to connect the LAN cable to the router (not to the LAN port marked WAN) and use the browser to configure the Belkin router for the wireless settings.
In the wireless setup change the SSID from the default SSID to what you like., set up encryption (if your wireless card supports WAP then use WAP encryption, if not use WEP 128bit)
Also change the administrator password (write it down and put it in a safe place).
you can disconnect the LAN cable from the computer and router.
If you had not installed the wireless driver for you wireless card, do so now.
Connect the LAN cable to the WAN port on the router and the other end to the Hughesnet.
Now configure the wireless card with the SSID and the encryption that was set on the router.
If all goes well you should see your router and get on to the Internet.
Get back to me with error messages if you have problems.
hmm a very open problem, could be here for days without detail :)
the most basic and common problems are:
(try these starting from the top)
* The firewall is incorrectly set, causing the firewall to reject the wireless infomation sent to the computer, reconfigure/reinstall a firewall
*you are too far away from the router if it keeps disconnecting, try moving closer.
*make sure the connection settings are set to automatic, right cick the wireless icon on the startbar, select status, select properties, scroll to internet protocol, then select properties. all the settings on this screen should be set to:
"Obtain ______________ Automatically"
* if the laptop name claims to have came with wireless built in, try checking the uniqe specification to that specific laptop, as my Acer Travelmate 2300 claims to have wireless built in, but i do not have it.
If none of these work id be happy to create another list :)
make sure your router is set at the correct transfer speed eg 54MBPS as your pc may only have a wireless adapter that supports 54MBPS as some run at 108MBPS.
You may also need to check that the routers DHCP setting is enabled so as to give your pc an automatic ip address and also check your wireless adapter or card properties and on the TCP/IP line click properties again select obtain ip address automatically.
