I have a jvc kd r310 cd player and im running a 4 channel amp and 2 subs. How do i hook up another 4 channel amp to run my door speakers and rear speakers

  • Anonymous May 24, 2011

I have 2 line inputs and 2 line outputs. The amp im running for the subs is a lanzar vibe 2000 watt 4 channel. The other amp is a sony xplod 4/3 channel with a set of inputs for rear and front speakers. Do i have to run any cables from the line out on the back of the head unit, or do i just connect the line outs to the line inputs?

There should be a "line out" on your amp. Take a pair of RCA patch cable and run it fron "line out" of the 1st amp to the "Line in" of the 2nd amp. Then wire that 4ch amp for your speakers.

Thanks a lot! So all i have to do is connect all the line outputs to the line inputs? my amp for the subs is a lanzar vibe422 2000 watt 4 channel with 2 line inputs and 2 line outputs. The other amp is a sony xplod 4/3 channel with 2 line inputs, one for the rear speakers and one for the front speakers.

Yup. So lets strat from the beginning. So your head unit has a pair of RCA outputs, those outputs will feed into the first amp(LANZAR) for the subs (LINE IN). Now that LANZAR amp for the sub also have a RCA outputs, take another pair of cables to run it from the output of the LANZAR amp to the INPUTS for the SONY amp. Now that sony amp can be used for the 4 speakers.

PIONEER 300 WATT CAR STEREO AMP WIREING HOW TOO

depending on how many channels the amp is, you may not be able to hook everything up to it.

usually you have a separate amp for subs. 4 channel amp for the speakers in the car, and a mono amp for the subs.

To hook them all up to the same amp you would need an amp with 5 channels. It wouldn't work out right.

If you have a mono amp its only for subs.

If you have a 2 channel you can either hook it up to the rear speakers or bridge them to mono to run the subs.

you need a channel per speaker basically.

Hey is ther any why i can run six Speakers off this head unit + an amp and sub system?

The head unit will drive four speakers, 2 front ,2 rear.
Best way to add two more speakers and a sub is to get a 4 channel amp. Hook it up to the RCA jacks from your head unit. Bridge two channels of the amp to drive your sub, and use the other two channels of the amp to drive the extra two speakers. Just make sure whatever amp you get it's bridgeable.

I have a jvc kds580 and i wanna run a passive Bazooka EL and 4 other speakers. Can i drive the sub with the 2 RCA OUTS on the back of the unit? If not, how do i drive the sub?

RCA Outs are very low power signal connectors. They would have a hard time running a pair of headphones.

What you need is a Power Amp that the RCA's plug into and your subs Connect to.
You need an Amp (Amplifier) that powers a similar number of Watts to what your Subs Capacity is. (ie; your subs have a ratting of 100W (Watts), then you need an amplifier with 100W per channel; that's a 200W amp for a two way (Speaker) amp, or a 400W rating for an amp with 4 channels (4 Speaker connectors)
You can run a lower power amp on your subs, and use ony a portion of your speakers capacity; but if you get an amp that supplies more wattage than your speakers capacity, then you'll blow your speakers, their performance will deteriorate slowly. eventually they will not be able to generate a clear reproduction, Speakers are irrepairable.

Sorry for the long explanation.
This is something you wan't to do right, the first time.

Cheers,
Richard.

INSTALLING A CD RECEIVER IN MY CAR

Some decks only give one pair of pre outs. Most 4 channel amps can use just a 2 channel input and feed the other 2 channels by the flip of an input selection switch. I recomend a 4 channel amp if you want to power front and rear speakers and be able to set the gains to blend properly, or you can run all 4 speakers at a 2 ohm stereo on 2 channels and run a sub on the remaining r channels. It just depends on how you want the setup to be nd to how much control you want. Let me know.

I have a Pyle PLD3MU head unit and a sony XM-ZR1252 amp (2 channel) and the car has 2 door speakers, 2 rear deck speakers, and 2 12" subs. What is the best configuration to hook this up?

Run your 12" subs off the amp make sure to Xover for bass only.
Try running the 4 speakers direct to the stereo may not be enough power, Might have to invest in another amp and speaker upgrade to get it sounding just right.
But its a place to start.

VAN AUTO HOOK UP KD-HDR1

This radio can not use a common ground. If your speakers are all grounded together you will blow up the amp IC in the radio. The negative speaker wires run at about 6 or 7 volts and so do the positive speaker wires.

Trust me, run new speaker wires, do not common ground any of these speakers

If this was helpful a good rating would be appreciated.
