Drastic Need for 2 Upper Tracks...

I desperately need the 2 upper tracks for a Graco (Simplicity, Inc.) 4 in 1 Ultra Sleep System, Model# 4600CL. This is the white metal crib. I have already talked to Graco (Didn't make the crib so they have no parts), Simplicity,Inc. (They weren't concerned at all with my problem and said I would have to buy a new crib) They were completely out of parts. I also checked at Products America and they don't have anything to fit either. HELP please. Thanks

I got tired of calling Simplicity, Inc. trying to resolve this problem. They were absolutely no help and were concerned even less. I received no apologies or regrets at their lack of help. So, I reported them to the PA. Better Business Bureau. Within a week, they called me and said they would be happy to send me the parts that I needed. What I would like to know is, where did these non-existant parts come from? Every time I called them, they told me that that they had absolutely no parts available. Someone was fibbing. Anyway, thanks to the BBB, I have our crib together and ready to go. Thanks Again BBB!

If you have the conversion kit for the crib to convert to a toddler bed, you should also have the white caps that go one the end of the guard rails for the toddler bed. I found with mine that they are the same ones as that are on the stationary side of the crib on the back side. if you do not mind having a crib with out a drop side you can remove both tracks and take those pieces and make it a stationary crib by merely following the way the rear side is put together. I have done it with mine as a guide was broken on mine. there should be four caps in the conversion kit that go on the two rails on the front side when you convert to a day bed. I figured out that they are the same as the ones on the back because you do actually use the ones off of the back side when you make it a toddler bed and put all four rail on.

Please read this, I'm not sure if yours is included because looks like you listed it as 'ultra deluxe' but better to be safe than sorry...

About 1 Million Simplicity Cribs Recalled Due To Failures Resulting in Infant Deaths NOTE: Repair Kits that immobilize the drop-side are now available
ALSO NOTE: Consumers who have participated or have yet to respond to Simplicity’s June 2007 recall of Nursery-in-a-Box cribs are strongly urged to also participate in this recall. AND ADDITIONALLY: A subsequent recall involving Simplicity drop side cribs has been issued. WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is announcing today a voluntary recall with Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pa., of about 1 million cribs. The drop-side can detach from the crib, which can create a dangerous gap and lead to the entrapment and suffocation of infants. CPSC is aware of two deaths in Simplicity manufactured cribs with older style hardware, including a 9-month-old child and a 6-month-old child, where the drop-side was installed upside down. CPSC is also aware of seven infant entrapments and 55 incidents in these cribs. CPSC is also investigating the death of a 1-year-old child in a Simplicity crib with newer style hardware, in which the drop-side was installed upside down. CPSC is warning parents and caregivers to check all Simplicity cribs to make sure the drop-side is installed right side up. The drop-side failures result from both the hardware and crib design, which allow consumers to unintentionally install the drop-side upside down. This, in turn, can weaken the hardware and cause the drop-side to detach from the crib. When the drop-side detaches, it creates a gap in which infants can become entrapped. CPSC is also aware of two incidents that occurred when the drop-side was correctly installed with older style hardware, though the upside down installation greatly increases the risk of failure. The recalled Simplicity crib models include: Aspen 3 in 1, Aspen 4 in 1, Nursery-in-a-Box, Crib N Changer Combo, Chelsea and Pooh 4 in 1. The recall also involves the following Simplicity cribs that used the Graco logo: Aspen 3 in 1, Ultra 3 in 1, Ultra 4 in1, Ultra 5 in 1, Whitney and the Trio. The recalled cribs have one of the following model numbers, which can be found on the envelope attached to the mattress support and on the label attached to the headboard: 4600, 4605, 4705, 5000, 8000, 8324, 8800, 8740, 8910, 8994, 8050, 8750, 8760, and 8996. The cribs, which were made in China, were sold in department stores, children’s stores and mass merchandisers nationwide from January 1998 through May 2007 for between $100 and $300. As an immediate precaution, consumers should check to see if the drop-side is installed right side up. To do this, check to see that the slightly rounded rail with the decorative groove is installed at the top and the plain rail is on the bottom. Next, consumers should make sure the drop-side is securely attached to the tracks in all four corners.

Need insturtions for graco

Most if not all of the simplicity brand drop-side cribs have been recalled, including the Graco model #4600.

Here is the CPSP link regarding this crib.
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07307.html

According to the CPSP information the company appears to be out of business to some degree and are not providing repair kits.

If you know where you purchased the crib, check to see what their policy is regarding recalled baby products.

We had purchased ours at walmart almost 8 years ago and were able to return it to another store in a different state for a full refund last summer. They did not need a receipt received, they just needed the manufacturer label on the part that the mattress lies on.

Because ours was older, the customer service clerk did have to work hard to find the crib in their system, but once she did, it was not problem at all.
