Trouble connecting to the internet Acer 5050

Not according to specs - its has wireless 802.11b/g installed. If wireless is not enabled, and there is no separate wireless button, check the function keys and look at the blue legends hat are on them. One of them may look like a transmitting antenna. To activate the key, press and hold the "Fn" key while pressing the function key with the legend to see if that activates the wireless. If so, pressing it again will deactivate it.

install the wireless driver first on the laptop

Well There must be a switch on it. If You are pretty sure about this that its not there.
Than you can do one thing Look on the keyboard and observe the keys carefully you will find an icon on the keyboard look like an antena symbol look below:
Or Somewhat change on this icon. The default key on most keyboards is F2 or sometimes you need to hold down the Fn Key and they press the F2 Key

You need to check first if the wireless switch is turn on.If it is on, check the function key for the wireless. Some computers have function key. Sometimes it is combination of fn and f5. Press those keys at the same time and you should see a pop up window and check if the current status is on. If it is on, uninstall/reinstall the wireless driver in device manager. and restart your computer. If this didn't work. You need to do re installation of your operating system

Without any wireless networks available, using your computer wirelessly is most pointless. If you want to set up a wireless access point in your home you need a wireless router, connected to Internet.

unfortunately there is no "software" way to turn it back on. Very sorry. :-/

it surely is a keys combination. just find the little icon that represents wireless over the f1, f2, f3.... keys... arround those keys and by pressing and holding Fn key and at the same time that wireless key you will enable/disable the adapter...

on the keyboard there should be a icon for the wireless. Most of the times pressing Fn+The key reactivates the wireless function otherwise there is a button or slider in the front or on the side of the laptop
