I shut the tv off last night and now it won't turn

If total dead (no lights on blinking etc) follow power cord into the set and find and check the main fuse--in this set it usually is a glass 5 amp fuse.

Tv won't turn on. It turned off after a few minutes and won't turn back on. We opened it up and replaced the fuse.Didn't change anything. A friend said that it just seems to not be getting any...

does the power light flash three times slowly then stay off? If so chances are its just the CP150, cp120 and CP114 capacitors. There is the RCA repair kit by that same name available from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the capacitors and the CD with repair instructions

I have an older model rca rear projection tv. The problem with the tv is that the picture bends into curve after about 5 minutes after it has been turned on. Please help.

Check the convergence IC's for cold solders, check for leaking capacitors in the area. Check the voltage regulator with a Variac.

Usually these sets just need the 2 big convergence IC's replaced with new ones. Clean all 3 picture tube lenses, mirror and screen. Get the original RCA remote that came with the set and MANUALLY align the convergence.

Rarely the bow on the bottom of the screen is not repairable.

HDRCA 52" model R52WH77, the pic looks like a big U in the middle of the screen and it turns its self on after turning it off. Sound is fine.

A capacitor is building up power and then when there is too much power it discharges turning the tv back on without you hitting the power button. The tv will need to be repaired by a service tech however get a quote and then decide whether it is better to just buy a new tv. LCD's have dropped in price greatly.
