QXA3196 is the part number for the remote. According to the Pioneer website, that remote was distributed with the DEH-1200MP, but may be compatible with many other models.
Its not the select button, you must have the power off and hold the function button down for about 5 seconds, display will change and you will be able to navigate your way to the clock from there. Hope this helps.
Purchase the aftermarket wire harness at from a local installation shop. WIres will match color for color to this harness then mate to the factory connector. This could save hours attempting to figure out the factory wire harness.
You can get replacement wiring harnesses from Pioneer (www.pioneerelectronics.com) or from a local stereo shop that sells Pioneer product. Also, check Ebay...there are often times harnesses for sale for any model of radio from all across the country.
How to change the time on a Pioneer DEH 1500 car stereo: With the radio off, select the 'clock' (upper left button) to display the time. Press and hold the 'audio' (upper right button) until the time display blinks. Use the 'select' buttons to select the hour or minutes and adjust time (right button selects minute digits, left button selects hour digit, up button increases the time, bottom button decreases time).
