Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P93 Digital Camera
My Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 is 3 years old and until recently I have had little to no trouble with the camera. LIke the others are reporting, I am only able to power the camera on successfully in review picture mode. I have tried everything from switching the batteries to cleaning with pressurized air to no avail. Please help because I know Sony would be of little to no assistance outside of charging full price for repairs.
I found that one has to use their batteries of at least 2100mAh and NI-MH. I recharged my batteries removed the new ordinary alkaline batteries I had put in and BINGO IT WORKED. Just to prove the point I put in another set of Alkaline batteries No good. It must be that NI-MH Batteries rated at 2100mAH have more power (or one can draw more currentat start up) a battery guru could maybe veryify my conclusions. Anyhow try NI-MH batteries and see how you go. Best of luck fredlich

I had the same problem. My rechargeable batteries were old. I replaced them with new 2650 mAh Ni-MH batteries and the problem was solved

It is probably the capacitor[s] in the power supply. This is a SONY repair. Better to but a newer model.
I like Canon!!!
