Here is a solution:

  1. Press control + alt + delete, opening the Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Applications tab
  3. Click New Task...
  4. Type in "explorer.exe" without the quotes.
Enjoy!

I run windows xp and often the voice goes out and I have to reboot. This happens generally about two days after I reboot. Thanks in advance for your help.

If the sound comes back after Restart even you don't do anything, then there must be some problem with your computer, not only with the Sound driver. It's possible that the sound driver ceases after it runs for a while and it resumes only after the system is restarted. I would highly recommend you to reinstall the sound driver. You can download the sound driver here (Click Here).

I would also suggest you to scan your computer with few antivirus programs. You can use Avg Free, Avira Free and Avast Free. Run full system scans with these antiviruses, but don't forget to install only one of them at a time otherwise it might cause another problem. I hope you have at least one security software (antivirus or antispyware etc..) installed on your computer. Uninstall the currently installed antivirus program and try with the other versions.

If you have problem, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My computer is showing me an alert about viruses and it just keeps popping up how do i remove the viruses

If you have an Antivirus installed, run a scan on your entire Hard Drive, and with any luck it will find and correct the problem.

If not you should install an Antivirus program and after it is installed get the latest updates for it and then restart your computer and then do a complete scan of your Hard Drives.

many viruses today prevent you from installing an Antivirus program once they have penetrated your computer some do not even allow you to visit the common web pages of common antivirus companies. if this is the case download the McAfee Stinger, this is a stand alone scanner, and let it scann your complete hard drive. Hopefully it will find any viruses and correct the problem. Afterwards DEFINATLY install some kind of virus protection.

Here a link for McAfee Stinger:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Here a link for Avira a freeware Antivirus Program:
http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus

if none of these steps work you should save all of your important data to another drive or USB and reinstall your windows. once again installing an antivirus program directly afterwards.

hope I was able to help

How to remove trojan virus from my pc

The avast! Free Online Scanner for Windows XP cannot be harmed with the threats that hide themselves in the files. No unknown virus can affect its scanning process. It proves to be very useful against those infections that can corrupt the antivirus protection software and make it completely helpless. This free online scan can effectively remove viruses, malware, spyware and also the rootkits. It is recommended by the experts not to use more than one antivirus software or else there will be conflicts between the two.
