Hi My laptop has become very slow recently and I think this may have something to do with the windows media player as when I attempt to play music it plays it slow and often sounds like a scratched record Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks:)

Without mother board cd ,how can we start music in laptop

I think you're talking about a CD player in the computer, right? You can download and play mp3 music files on software on your computer. Windows Media Player will do this. You can download free music from a site called Azureus Vuse. After you download the music files to your computer, you can click on them and they will come up in Windows Media Player and play. Good luck, hope I answered your question.

Hi, I recently purchased a Gateway NV52u laptop, running the Vista 64bit operating system. Recently, I noticed that whenever I play music on Windows Media Player or Pandora, I hear severe static, both...

Yes, you are having driver issues with the applications that are giving you problems. Did you upgrade your media player yourself or automaticly? There is a 64 bit version for vista to install. I expect that the media player is the application hat pandora is riding on top of as well. A suggestion is to remove media player, and download the 64 bit version and install. If you have the 64 bit version now, it might be corrupt or something. Still remove it and get it again. There are services attached to the media player as well that are enhancements such as things for the mixer and equalizer.. these have to be 64 bit compatible as well.. somewhere you have some either corrupted software and enhancements or ones that are not 64 bit capable.. hope that helps you out (look at enhancements first, then pandora, then MSMP)..
thanks!

It's telling me to synchronize music that I own (copied from cds)

Use Windows Media Player to rip the songs into Mp3 format - make sure you select mp3 in the Rip options. Real Player rips songs from CD into the wrong format.

Intermittent playback issue- weird "underwater" sounds?

The issue you have described with your portable device in most cases can be resolved by formatting your device. Please follow these steps even if you have already attempted them once before.

Please note that this will remove all music from your device.

Formatting the device in Windows Media Player

1. Open Windows Media Player with your MP3 player connected to the computer

2. At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top

3. The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"

4. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media" click this button to erase all the data from the player

5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.

Unknown Format

It sounds like these wma files have DRM protection.

You can still play these songs on your mp3 player, but you must use Windows Media Player to transfer them.

To do this, connect your mp3 player to your computer, then open Windows Media Player. In WMP select "Sync" & you should see your mp3 player in the right-hand pane. Drag & drop your wma files across. It's a slow way to do it, but the only way to transfer wma files with DRM.

Let me know how you get on!
