I have a Olympus FE-100 everything works except the flash. I have tried everything. The lightening bolt and red light flashes all the time. Change modes nothing happens. mHelp.

blinking red light means camera is trying to charge flash circuitry. if you cancel flash mode, you can use taking picture. But if you want to repair, your local repair shop would charge around $35 to 75 depend on what they really want to charge.

Look at the back side of the camera. At the right side of OK button, there is a sign of flash (lightening with arrow), this is the flash button. Click this button to set the flash. To choose other flash setting, click this button several time until you get "FLASH OFF".

Push the button with the lightning bolt icon until a lightning bolt with a line through it appears on the screen.

Press Right-arrow (marked with the lightning bolt) repeatedly to select the flash mode. In this case, you want the lightning bolt inside a circle with a slash through it, indicating "no flash".

After the concert, don't forget to set it back to Auto, or the flash will never fire again :-)

Two possible causes: 1. Your battery is weak. 2. You have the flash turned off. Press the button with a picture of a lightning bolt and watch the screen to see if it changes. Stop when you see the bolt and an "a".

Make sure you try and reset the camera to the factory default settings. There may be a setting that you are using that has disabled the flash functionality. To reset the camera - have the camera in shooting mode - press the menu button - left arrow to reset and press ok - you will see reset yes or no - highlight yes and press ok - camera will be back in factory settings - see if flash is able to work now.

Ok the lightning bolt is your power indicator: solid green-charging, Flashing green-fully charged, flashing red-low battery, flashing red three times the once green-bad battery. the "trash can" looking one is your hard drive activity indicator it will flash while your hard drive is reading and writing.

i have an olympus fe-100 even with a new battry when swith on the lens move out & back in , then two light green & orange flash 10 times & stop

use external 4.5v npkia battery. huh. ı have same machine and hate olympus.
