Is it the actual knob that is broken or the little tab the knob holds onto that is broken. You either need a replacement knob or a replacement switch assuming the know is also the thermostat for the unit. Does that same knob control the fan speed? Temprature or timer?
the knob is probably stripped. if the stove is from 1950 you may want to consider replacing it. If it is not to expensive to replace the knob you can try that just email the company and see if they can send you a replacement knob
My husband replaced the knob on our Magnifica. It actually pops on and off. When the knob is in the Off position, take a butter knife under the RIGHT side of the knob and gently pry the knob out about 1/8". At that point, you should be able to use your fingers to pull the knob straight out. When replacing the knob, be sure to line up the flat spot on the inside of the knob with the same spot on the coffee machine.
I dont know if moen made chrome handles for that valve back then. If they did then they will probably be lever handles but they wont turn correctly unless you remove the cartridges and turn them. Iwould suggest probably replacing the whole unit.
you have two different knobs to replace?..is it the water level knob or the timer knob?
if its the timer knob you need to remove, look underneath the timer and you will find a black plastic pin depressed at the middle. pull it slowly for about 1/4 of an inch.
then you can remove the knob in the front of the timer switch.
in putting it back, install the knob first in the timer and then depressed that black plastic pin to lock the knob.
be carefull not to pull the plastic pin all the way out. it would be very hard to put it back in.
