My Kenmore Elite Oasis top load washer will start when is ready. We press the start button several times and hold it down for minutes at a time then maybe it will start. Plus even the smallest load will be off balance UL blinks on the message display,

I have the same problem with my piece of junk Oasis. I found that if you hold down the button for up to 20-30 seconds it will finally start. Sometimes I need to unplug the washer to do a power reset or something. The electronics along with many other problems makes this the worst investment I've ever made. All I've done is fix it since I got it. And I paid serious money for it. I think they got to fancy with the design IMHO

If the washer throws an UL error code with out any clothes in the washer then the issue must be concerned with the mechanical alignment inside the machine or a bad CCU.

The most common problem which can cause this is some sort of mechanical hinderance which does not allow the basket to move freely.

The suspension system which holds the basket in its place might be faulty and causing the unbalancing. In this model i think there are plastic ring at the bottom of the basket . Even if they are worn out or moved out of position it may cause the UL error code you are facing

check if basket turns freely. if it does replace the main board

this is a main control board failure and needs to be replaced

This is most certainly caused by a faulty micro switch on the lid. Have the switch checked out and replaced if need be.

This error only shows in diagnostic mode, with power off choose any buttons except stop and power, press in intervals 5 seconds on and 5 seconds off until 88 appears and all light light up. If the user panel is faulted F 2 will flash in the display, press the same button you used to start diagnostics to jump to the next error code and once through 88 will flash and diagnostics will start. Sometimes once F2 flashes and the machine has not been repaired it will stick at that mode.

pick any button but power or pause (spin works ok) pres and hold 3 sec release 3 sec hold 3 sec release 3 sec hold 3 sec this will put intio diagnostics usually if a fault code is stored this will show first press same button to step through post fault code if any asap and will try to help may to try several times to get into diagnostics
