Playstation 3 console will not run any discs, either games or dvd.Been working fine, then came to use again and would not work. have tried switching off and leaving over night, tried this morning but still nothing

Sounds like it could be the output setting for your sound. Depending on what you are running your sound through, it might not support what the ps3 is putting out from a blu-ray game disc. Check audio output settings and try again.

Do other games work? Try ejecting the disc, restarting the console and then inserting the game again.

run a disc cleaner though it if that dont work the eye may need replacing or cleaned

blu ray or dvd try and see if a dvd will work games and movies will say on disc blu ray or dvd

Most common cause of this problem is a dirty lens. Try cleaning the PS3 with a good quality dvd cleaner. You may have to run it more than one cycle depending on how long it's been between cleanings. Once you have run the cleaner check with a known working game. It should work fine. Hope this helps.

Then their is something wrong with the disc reader/the lens. You'll need to call Sony and send your PS3 in for repair it should run you 159.00 in all and take about 2 or 3 weeks until you get it back.

Check for any scratches on the game disc. If that doesn't work then turn off the system completely with the main power switch located on the back of the console to restart the system and try again, If somehow that doesnt work call Sony technical support so they can try to solve the problem.

Try cleaning the eye on the disc drive. If that doesnt work You will need a whole new disc drive

hi this problem has been happening to thousands of ps3 systems including mine. si i spoke to sony on saturday and they told me a patch was coming out on tues 8th of jan, so tomorrow to fix all disc read problems. hope this helps you.
