What type and size is your new memory card? The V603 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

SOURCE: "unrecognized file format" error message

When videos are spliced, multiple audio and video tracks are needed. Kodak EasyShare digital cameras can handle only one video and one audio track at a time. Use the Apple QuickTime player to view spliced videos.

SOURCE: formatting memory card

Don't even think about formating your memory card ! You need for a data recovery software to recover your pictures. There are a lot of recovery software's at the market and some of them are even for free. Look for it in the internet, under "memory card recovering pictures" Good luck

SOURCE: Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan

SOURCE: Won't format new memory card

Your camera is not SDHC compatible. It will only support standard SD cards. Sorry.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Kodak c310 camera won't format new SD 2GB card old card same size

Older C310s won't take that large a card. Try to exchange it for a 1 GB or smaller. I had the same problem - a PNY 1 GB works fine

MY CAMERA IS A Z650 KODAK EASYSHARE, MY DAUGHTER LOST MY OLD MEMORY CARD SO I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A NEW MEMORY CARD BUT MY CAMERA SAYS IT NEEDS FORMATTING AND IT WONT LET ME ALSO IT SAYS INTERNAL MEMORY IS...

Just as I suggested. The Z650 works with SD cards, not SDHC cards. Most likely your old card was 2GB or smaller and your new card is 4GB or larger. Try using a 2GB SD card.
You can clear internal memory by deleting the pictures it contains. Download them to your computer first if you want to preserve them. You can get rid of all of them in one shot by using the "Format" command in the Setup menu.

Internal memory is full i bought a new memory card and it still say the same thing only took 4 pictures help the camera is a kodak easyshare c182

To get the memory card to work, you must first erase the internal memory. Here's how...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. After that, your new card should work properly.

Memory card says full when i put new sd 2gb card in card won't work on my kodak easyshare cw330 camera

I was checking to see if your camera had a limit to the size of SD memory card and couldn't find a thing so what I suspect is that the SD card lock has been engaged here is a diagram to show you how to unlock it.

Also any new memory card needs to be formatted in the camera before the camera can "read" it.
After pictures have been loaded to the memory card and then downloaded to the computer the memory card needs to be formatted to clean the old pictures off and make the memory card ready to accept new pictures.

How do I delete pictures from memory card when pictures already imported when I turn on camera it says memory card & internal full I have a Kodak easyshare c180

Memory cards should be formatted each time you finish downloading pictures from it. This clears the card and prepares it for further use.

Press the MENU button, use left/right to highlight Setup, then use up/down to select "Format."

When I insert the memory card into my kodak m1093is camera it takes a long to time for the screen to come on and will not let me take pictures for a long time. When the memory card is not inserted there...

Do you have pics on the internal memory? If so, download them and format the internal memory. Is your memory card almost full of pics? If so, download them and then format the card in the camera.

Kodak v603 says needs to format memory card, card works in other kodak cameras. it says formatting, then just tells me it needs formatting. What can I do to fix it?

The way To Fix It is :

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

    Memory card

I experienced the same problem with my Kodak C330. I took it to Walgreens and the tech stated that the C330 was created before 2 GB memory cards were invented; therefore, the software inside it doesn't recognize a larger GB capacity. In short, the C330 has a 1GB max capacity. Considering you can take 1200 pictures with a 1GB card, a larger size really isn't necessary.

Say's the memory card is full. It is a new empty (kodak cw330)

You may need to go into the Menu Selection of the camera & locate the "Format" option. Choose Format & see if it will then read the card.
