Question about Dryers

Open Question

Zanussi tumble dryer TC 7103 S The tumble dryer has started to cut out and the water full light comes on but the water containers has only a small amount of water in it. It wont switch on again for about 15/20 minutes and then it will only work for a couple of minutes and cut out again. now we have discovered if we put in only 1 or 2 light items it will work ok

Sounds like the condense pump is bad. Replace it, or look if there is lint in it. ;)

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail(meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) thatmight need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can tripout or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehaveprograms that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcodeshowing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also bethe fault.

I had a similar problem. There is a 'o' ring on the plastic part that keeps coming out. This 'o' ring is not big enough, you need to replace it with a thicker one, preferably one made from a harder material.

Tumble dryer fault

usually this is a sign the felt bearings on the drum, or the roller bearings under the drum are worn and need replacing
felts and rollers should be visible once you open the case
check the rollers turn freely, check the felts are not worn through
replace both rollers or both felts if one is worn
