Laptop will not turn on, laptop will not power on, laptop will not start

Try plugging the charger into a wall outlet if you are currently plugging it in a power strip. If you are not try plugging it in another wall outlet. If that doesn't work you can try a hard reboot if the battery is accessible. To do this turn off the slimbook, unplug it, take out the battery and hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Once done put the battery back in, plug it back in and turn the slimbook back on.

Check Power Adapter Turn the laptop off. Remove any power cords or power sources. Separate the battery from the bottom of the laptop. Slide or press the locking mechanism to unlock the battery. Slide the battery out of the battery compartment. Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet. Insert the opposite end of the adapter into the charging outlet on the side of a laptop. When you say you "tried turning it on with the battery removed", did you leave it plugged into the wall with the charging adapter at the time? Please clarify that you tried to use it while plugged in without the battery and it would not power up? When you plugged it in without the battery, was the green charging light on? Or did you get no power light at all?

With your battery in, try using a different outlet to plug into. Plug it into another outlet and when the green charging light comes on press and hold your power button on your keyboard and do not release it for 30 to 45 seconds. Tell me if this boots up the pc even if just for a moment?

There are three lights on your keyboard that should come on when the laptop is plugged in and turned on. One is the power light, the other is the battery charging light and the last one is the hard drive indicator that looks like a round cylinder on the picture. Tell me when you plug it into the outlet and the battery charge light is on, does the hard drive light come on and/or flicker when you try to power up the laptop? How many lights come on when you press and hold down the power button with the cord plugged into the wall?

Maybe your battery is totally drained.

Try to connect the AC adaptor of your laptop and plug it to the wall outlet and let it charge for 3 hours or more. When you plug it on the wall socket, it won't show the laptop's led blinking since it was totally drained. But after 3 minutes or more, it will start to show the blinking led to indicate charging. When blinking stops led light disappears, it is fully charged and ready to use.

Remember: Do not use your laptop while it is plugged in to save your battery life. When at home, remove the battery while it is fully charged and plug the AC adaptor directly to the wall outlet. It will still work without the battery as long as it is plugged directly to the wall socket.

* remove the plug from your computer.
* Remove the battery from your computer
* Let it sit for 3-5 minutes
* Replace the battery
* Plug your computer back in (Make sure the wall outlet is working as well, seems simple, but have seen it before)
* Let it sit for about 3-5 minutes
* Boot your computer
* go to
Start -> Control Panel -> Power Options -> Power Meter
Note the Total Battery Power Remaining

* Let your computer sit for 15-30 Minutes and see if the Total Battery Power Remaining has gone up.

If so problem solved

if not you may be time for a new battery.
