I know this is gonna sound funny, but your gonna have to trust that I am actually a video camera technician and know what I'm talking about. The Iris in your camera is stuck. turn your camera on and hit the bottom. dont go nuts...but don't be a wimp either. It is very common on these cameras. if it keeps doing it, that means you need to have the iris replaced. Considering the camera is quite old, there probably arent a lot of service centers that will do it for you. I can if you want me to...just message me..i work in oklahoma so you would have to ship it...

There should be a menu with settings in record for videos. there may be a joystick button with settings which can be changed to set to video mode.
