Samsung RS267LABP Side by side refrigerator

I had a service call done on this refrigerator. The fan was making a loud noise and the refrigerator was not cooling properly. Also, freezer would defrost to the point where ice cream would melt. The technician came in, replaced the lower fan. Today, freezer is okay, but fridge is still not cold. I used a laser thermometer to check the temp, and it was reading between 40-45 degrees. Any other suggestions to try? Thanks for your time. I HAVE A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR 2 DOORS SIDE BY SIDE MODEL RS2556SH.THE FRIDGE TEMPERATURE FLASHING AT 34o F,FRIDGE NOT COOL.FAN NOT TURN. I TAKE OFF THE FAN PANEL,IT IS FREEZING AND ICY. I TRY TO DEFROST THE ICE AROUND THE FAN,IT WORK OK. 2 DAYS LATER,THE SAME PROBLEM COME AGAIN. PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU.

Not sure if you have one or two problems, so need to be systematic. From what you say it seems you have a defrost heater problem.
Here is how I would start:
- Get a service manual for your fridge.
- Make sure you are not running the fridge in "sales" mode
- Run a self test of the unit (as described in the manual).
- Based on results, unplug the fridge and remove cover of the electronic compartment
- Remove the connector of the heater units.
- Measure the resistance of each heater to see if they are all good.
- If this is the case re-plug the connector and plug the fridge
- Using "force mode" described in the manual turn the heaters on and measure voltage on the respective connector.... this will tell you if board and built-in relays are good.

This should give you a good start of where the problem is.
Note than when in force mode you can also force the compressor to run in different modes and measure the related voltages. If the above does not get any hint, then moce your troubleshooting that way.

Good luck!

Samsung rs2530b refrigerator making loud noise...why?

It might have dust in it. It can drain the fan speed, which makes odd sounds. It could be something else jammed in there too. Clean the fan and see if that works.

The freezer fan makes a very loud noise

it probably has ice build up around i. Try manually defrosting it. Unpluggit and let it thaw out.

Refrigerator side makes noise, not getting cold

I have same fridge freezer & luckily a extended warranty, engineer has been out on numerous occasions & the motor is getting freezed up, which is why the noise stops when the door is opened. Get rid of it! No solution to the problem...its a faulty appliance & a well known fault with this model or so I have been told. Good luck.

Freezer making a loud noise.

Sounds as if the evaporator fan has shaft play or the blades are out of balance or striking something. When you open the door the pressure is equal but with the door closed the fan needs to push the air through the evaporator and return again and circle through fan again. I think soon would be a good time to unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel covering the evaporator and fan motor to inspect the fan, shaft play and the evaporator for frost buildup or any obstruction of air flow. Thanks, sea Breeze

Noise (more detail)

I think I answered this in an earlier post.

The noise is the fan banging against the motor housing. It's not a defective motor, it's a poorly designed motor.

The solution is to shim the motor mount so it is slightly out of level which will keep the fan from bouncing off the motor housing.

The reason Samsung won't service is they don't understand the problem. I've seen this a half-dozen times.

Trust me -- SHIM THE MOTOR MOUNT!

Loud noise from Fan and compressor

i have the same problem with mine. I took the back cover off at the bottom and the fan was going. get a scredriver and barely touch the center of the fan while it is on and if it stops making the noise then it is the fan motor. The bearings are getting ready to go out and it needs to be replaced.

Samsung RS267LABP Side by side refrigerator

I WOULD SAY THE NOISY FAN WAS DUE TO A BUILD UP OF ICE ON THE EVAPORATOR.THE ICE MIGRATES AND EVENTUALLY IT TOUTCHES THE FAN BLADE. PERSONALLY YOU COULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR DEFROST CIRCUIT.NOT SURE IF YOU HAVE THE ELECTRONIC TIMER OR MECHANICAL TIMER WITH ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS.IF MECHANICAL, I SUGGEST YOU REPLACE BOTH THE THERMAL FUSE AND THE EVAP.CLIXON. IF ELECTRONIC, A LITTLE MORE COMPLEX. EQUIPTMENT IS NEEDED.
