Try holding a flashlight (or other very bright light) an inch or two away from the screen while it's on. If you can see your background very faintly, then the backlighting of your monitor has gone out.
There are a lot of tutorials on how to replace backlighting (like this one: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Replace-a-LCD-Backlight/ ) or you can just buy a new monitor.
If you can't see anything with the flashlight, then it might be a bad capacitor, which is usually about the same in cost and labor as a new monitor.

My kindle will not turn off

Did you try

Instructions
  1. Frozen Screen or Unresponsive Kindle
    • 1 Unplug the Kindle.
    • 2 Move the power button to the right and release. You should see a green LED light for two seconds.
    • 3 Move the power button to the right and hold for five seconds. The green light should blink three times and then the screen will go blank. Release the power button after it does.
    • 4 Turn the device back on by sliding the power button to the right and releasing it.
    Perform a Hard Reset
    • 5 Perform a hard reset if the previous steps are unsuccessful or if the Kindle screen is showing lines.
    • 6 Slide the power button to the right.
    • 7 Hold for 15 seconds.
    • 8 Recharge the battery if the device continues to be unresponsive.
    • 9 Restart the Kindle after charging.

No monitor/screen, but turned on. Light signifying the laptop is on - on green.

Try this:

1. Turn off the laptop by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or until the power light goes off.
2. Pull the battery out of the laptop and disconnect the power from it.
3. Hold the power button in for 20 seconds.
4. Plug the laptop back in, and put the batter back in it.
5. Now try to turn the laptop back on.

If this does not work, let me know.

The screen went blank and green light started flashing. Turned off the TV and let it cool. Turned it back on, getting sound but no picture. Red light is on, after about 15 seconds the green light blinks...

Since you say that there is sound but no picture, the first thing I would check would be the status of the lamp. I believe that the lamp has been shattered or the filament is blown. Please verify this and let me know

Wont charge or turn on

not sure how long you have had this, but if the unit was completely turned off or battery completely dead, you have to hold the power button for about 15 seconds for the 3000t to start up...assuming the charge light at the top right is orange (that means its charging) no light means its not charging, green light means fully charged. if there is no power light on at the top right of unit, either the charger is bad or the port on the board is bad (which i do have) good luck and hope this helps. bill

Stand by light flashes red on powering up with remote and the green light flashes approx 15 or times before the screen illuminates.

thats pretty normal, it takes a good second or two to warm up and the display to turn on(at least0, you get the green flashes as you hold for on, 1 sec is a long time at times, lol, be patient, no problem with your tv!

No picture on my x5g-komodo7 monitor

A reddish picture is the classic symptom of worn out backlight bulbs.
Sensor circuits usually shut down the power to the bulbs in a second or so.
Monitor Mike.

Green flashes then tv turns off

or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
