Hey there, I have the toshiba satellite 2405-S201. The laptop has to be plugged in in order to power on and stay on. If it becomes unplugged I have about 5 minutes before the laptop shuts down. Thanks for your help! Michael

Nah. The max RAM for this model is 512MB (256MBx 2) - uses PC2100 or PC2700 memory. This model will not recognize anything beyond a 256MB module.

Are you doing an online chat? You need to have a separate microphone plugged in to talk online.

WHERE IS THE PASSWORD in BIOS OR IN WINDOWS IF ITS IN BIOS YOU HAVE TO RESET THE BIOS BY REMOVING THE CMOS BATTERY BUT IF PASSWORD IN WINDOWS XP YOU CAN TRY TO PRESS TWICE CTL+ALT+del TOGETHER AND PUT USER NAME ADMINISTRATOR AND PASSWORD BLANK OR ADMINISTRATOR OR ADMIN AND YOU CAN GET IN WINDOWS BUT IF IT DOSENT WORK THEN YOU HAVE TO FIND UTILITY LIKE PASSWORD REMOVER FROM THE NET AND TRY RESETING IT.

Go into the BIOS and reset it to factory default. If the drive still isn't being seen then you'll need to take the drive out of the laptop and then put it back in and be sure it reseats back into the slot properly.

If the drive still isn't being shown then its either the dvd drive or the motherboard is bad. You won't know until you try another known working drive. If the 2nd drive works then you know its the drive. If the 2nd drive doesn't work then you know its the controller on the motherboard thats bad and the motherboard would have to be replaced.

there are screws on the hinge that would require tightening they have come loose there are alot of little teeny tiny screws in those laptops so it is recommended that you take it to a technician

1. Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key.
The machine will beep, then display:
Check System, then press [F1] key.
2. Release ESC key
3. Press F1 key

reload video drivers if that don`t work then check for driver updates.
