Ihave a sisde by side and I swapt out mother board but compressor is not kicking on what am I doing wrong?

Sounds like something is causing your compressor to kick the overload. It could be the overload itself or it could be the start relay or it could be a locked compressor. Probably best to call a service tech.

freezer isn't working; do you hear the compressor kick on? No? then it has to be serviced

There is a defrost heater that periodically turn on to melt the accumulated frost on the coil. The heater will warm the coil to about 45 degrees and a defrost thermostat should shut off power to the heater. The defrost cycle should only last about 30-45 minutes then the compressor should kick on. If you find that some items in your freezer are melting, or that the freezer is not maintaining temperature, then something is wrong. Hope this helps you.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

Sounds like the relay contacts are staying open.

Start Relay/Overload or Compressor is bad. A bad compressor can make a Start Relay/Overload go bad but the only way to find out if compressor or Start Relay/Overload is bad is to replace the Start Relay/Overload if it starts and stays running you fixed it if Prob. returns in a week or so or if you have the same Prob. after replacing the relay the compressor is bad.

Here is how to check if the thermosat is bad.
make sure you have 120v to one side of the t'stat. it is just a switch so one side is hot and the other side is not.There are two wires going to the t'stat'. you need to jump them (put them together) if you do this and the compressor kicks on, then replace the t'stat. if it doesn't come on then the t'stat is good. something else is wrong.
check to see if this unit has a timer. check the compressor to see if there is 120v.

It could be a bad compressor start relay or a bad compressor. Replace the start relay,relatively inexpensive. If it still does not work the compressor is bad.

the noise your hearing indicates the possibility of a bad start relay on the comp or possibly it just came loose during the move. on the side of the compressor you will see 2-3 wires running into an electrical connection reseat this first. if still no operation replace teh relay. you can purchase thru any reputable appliance parts dealer. after replacing the relay if you have no operation then likely problem is seized comp.
domestic freezers do not have low pressure switches that indicate low freon charge.

The click your hearing is a thermal cutout that is kinda like a little breaker, it gets to the temp that it is designed for and trips. If its making a high pitch noise, more than likely the compressor itself has gone out and needs to be replaced, its getting a high load and triping the thermal cutout.
