you will not be able to get the drivers for the packard bell computer, especially for windows XP. the computer was discontinued way before XP came out, as well as the company going out of business. There is a new packard bell company, but based in Europe only. In addition, when you use the HP cd, it will probably say not compatible with non-hp computers. your best bet is to download you important information and store it on a new unit.
Times like this you might just have to crack the case open and find out the make and model of the network card. You might be able to get the driver you need by going to the manufacture's web site to download the driver.
Also, if you have not done so, try upgrading the service pack on windows xp first.
