The Sony DSC-H2 and DSC-H5 have a terrible shutter button design and the tiny little "bubble" that is responsible for the "half press focus" can be easily damaged.

Hi, Shutter button is available in parts shops and local camera repair shop will replace it. Sony will charge you too much to replace that button. Let me know if you have any additional question. Thanks.
If you do a search for "sony h2 shutter button replacement" on
Google.com you will find a shop that sells both the shutter button and
a repair service to install the shutter as well.
It is a common problem on this model. You need to replace the control assembly to fix the problem. Here is a link to show you how to replace the assembly and where to get the part.
I recieved my new shutter button from Sony and replaced it after searching on the net how to do so. I used rubber gloves to get a good grip on the button ring and turned it, I believe clockwise, and then replaced the it with the new button and ring. So simple and saved myself a lot of $$ though, $30 seems an awful lot for such a small piece of cheap plastic.
Same problem man, talk about cheap construction
