Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Webcam
Installing on Vista during step 3 pop up windo displays 'Internal Error 2738
when click OK installation ceases I am trying to install the software for a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 which I downloaded from their site. I get an internal error 2738 during the install. The disk tells me that it is imcompatible with my computer which is Compaq 6715b with home Vista on it. It installed fine on our desk top with XP.
Since you are running windows vista please follow these instructions carefully.

The Logitech Forums indicate that this is a Windows error indicating an inability of your particular version of Windows to install this program due to what appears to be VBScript not enabled on your version of Windows. This is probably due to Compaq not enabling the service during default installation of Vista on your machine. However this is a guess on my part. I'm not authorized to speak for Compaq and the Logitech discussion of this problem is located here
What is interesting is that your XP installation is working since the VBScript issue that is discussed on the Logitech site takes person to the VBSript download for XP. For the moment as I stated above in limited fashion, you issue may be with a service not enabled on Vista that is needed for the installation into your Vista machine and that service would seem to be related to scripting or VBscripting
