When i am installing yahoo messenger during installation an error comes d3d9.dll not found reinstall it........now what can i do plz help me.........

ANY Yahoo! Messenger program will not install properly if a former program, or an incomplete install, has not been completely deleted from the computer first. (Don't worry - your Contacts List will be saved into the fresh installation of an updated Messenger!)
Delete all Yahoo Messenger references from the registry.

  • Use the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs method,
  • Then double-check by going to Start > Search > files and folders > Yahoo! Messenger (notice the exclamation mark in the title).
  • Write down and delete all references manually if necessary. The uninstaller works well for Vista and Win 7, but not for XP - it leaves behind MANY junk files when uninstalling.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer 8 or 9 as your browser, Yahoo Messenger 10 will not work properly without Flash and Java programs installed, and possibly the .NET framework update. (Messenger 11 is still in beta format, so be wary of using it yet.). you'll have to download Flash and Java programs as well.

D3d9 dll error to download yahoo messenger
D3D9 stands for DirectX version 9 (as far as I know) So i would assume that you do not have DirectX installed.

When click on skype it is showing d3d9.dll error. how shall i come out from the problem?
Hi there,

The d3d9.dll could be a file that skype needs to run. I think the best way to get around this problem is to try and reinstall skype. Just download the installer from skype's website and then run the install.

NOTE: Uninstall previous version of skype before proceeding with installing the new one.

I install today the least version of messenger11. after i install i cannot open my yahoo messger... it said cannot d3d9.dl cannot locate... i already retry to install but its the same problem what should...
If you've already downloaded d3d9.dll from one of those DLL download sites, remove it from wherever you put it and continue with these steps.
  1. Restart your computer if you haven't yet.

    The d3d9.dll error might be a fluke and a simple restart could clear it up completely.

  2. Install the latest version of Microsoft DirectX. Chances are, upgrading to the latest version of DirectX will fix the d3d9.dll not found error.

    Note: Microsoft often releases updates to DirectX without updating the version number or letter so be sure to install the latest release even if your version is technically the same.

  3. Assuming the latest DirectX version from Microsoft doesn't fix the d3d9.dll error you're receiving, look for a DirectX installation program on your game or application CD or DVD. Usually, if a game or other program utilizes DirectX, the software developers will include a copy of DirectX on the installation disc.

    Sometimes, though not often, the DirectX version included on the disc is a better fit for the program than the latest version available online.

  4. Uninstall the game or software program and then reinstall it again. Something might have happened to the program files that work with d3d9.dll and a reinstall could do the trick.

  5. Restore the d3d9.dll file from the latest DirectX software package. If the above troubleshooting steps haven't worked to solve your d3d9.dll error, try extracting the d3d9.dll individually from the DirectX downloadable package.
