My wife was watching the TV when it made several "popping" noises and the picture went black. The cable box and the receiver for the home stereo system continued to have power. From the remote,, the cable box (digital) as well as the receiver would turn on and off. The green light that shows that the TV is on would not come on, either with te remote or by manually pushing the button. We checked all conections as well as making sure that the wall outlet was live. The TV is pluged into its own outlet. In my day, the TV would occasionally "blow a fuse", but I don't think this is relevent any more, and I would not even think to poke around inside!
New TV, simple fix? Please advise.
Thanks,
Scott
You will have a bad HVT and Horz output. repair is about 85.00-150.00 depeding on who repairs it. However, after 25 years of repairing TV, if you ask me, save your money, buy another TV, this unit has tons of costly repair problems, that is not easy to fix.

I would start by obviously checking all connections on the back of the tv. Sounds like maybe your Yellow RCA cable might have creeped out. Red and White RCAs are typically for sound and Yellow is for Video. Hope this helps
