The first thing to check is if you have 240 Volts going into the dryer. The display, lights, and motor run on 120 Volt but you need 240 V for the element.
how about after that?
Well, that is when the work starts. The first thing I would do is disconnect the dryer and inspect the wires. Of you see a wire or wire connection that looks like it has overheated that is probably where the problem is. Look at the element, thermostats, timer and heat selector switch. I hope you can read the wiring schematic that comes with the dryer. You would need to look at the schematic and find the pass for the 240 Volts to the element and check for continuity all the way from the time to the element. This could take some time.

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
