Yes, the router itself has no software interaction with the computer. You should just need to plug in the WAN cable from your modem and connect the LAN side to your computer. There should not be any password required for the LAN connection.
If the router was previously set up on a different ISP and the previous or current ISP require a username and password for Internet connection, normally only for DSL, then you may have to reset the router to factory defaults and configure for the new ISP. When you connect to the router and Windows 7 says it found a new network, if this is your home, you want to make sure you select home so it properly configures the firewall for Internet access.

Hi, have you tried using the router? Is it working?

Why are you using the Linksys router? What DSL modem do you have? Most of the modern DSL modems supplied by the ISP (telephone company) include a router and many of them include wireless too. Supply me with the modem model and I will let you know if the Linksys is required. If you want to use the Linksys instead of the ISP supplied router (still need the modem though) that may be possible but I will need to research you modem and the Linksys capabilities to be sure.
So, post the modem model number and confirm you want to use both the modem and Linksys together even if there is a router built into the modem.

Yes you can use that router to connect to the internet using Windows 7. You really don't need to download and install drivers for the router unless there are specific settings that you wish to program and use. I connected mine without downloading or installing anything and it worked just fine.
All you have to do is plug in the router and connect your modem to it. Wait for it to warm up and all of the lights to come on and go steady (except the wireless & internet connection lights) then connect your pc to it via ethernet cable (with the pc turned off). Then start your pc and it should automatically recognize the connection.
Good luck!

That didn't work. Lights on DSL modem come on and blink appropriately and lights on router do the same yet I can't connect to the internet. I'e tried my router address 192.168.1.1 and my ISP address 192.168.0.1 and without success. Router SN is CB9110EA06652. This is a ver.2 router. I am trying to connect with Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Any other ideas?
