Where do you put attachments to make them work?

There is a button on the handle that releases the suction tube from the floor brush housing. Once the suction tube is released from the brush assembly, you can install the attachments on the suction tube.

Air not getting to hose

I'm not sure which model you have but this is good for Riccar upright vacuums. If the hose has good suction but is not picking up well check the suction tube that is down by the brush roll. The suction tube starts by the brush roll and goes to the back of the vacuum where you put the suction hose into. If it has a clog or restriction the vacuum will not pick up properly.

Dust bag was full and have changed it but not getting proper suction since bag change - why?

The extension tube is probably blocked. Check for suction with all the tubes off - if there is suction now then the tubes are blocked - be carefull not to damage them if you poke things in the unblock them.

No suction of the water from carpet after soap is applied

Hello :

1: A vacuum pulls air through the bag, then through the tube attachment and then through the base (with the spinning agitator brush).

2:Check for signs of suction. Remove the tube attachment from its cradle and, after turning on the vacuum, put your hand to the end of the tube. Is there any suction at all? If there is a little bit of suction then you may have a clogged air tube.

3:Check the vacuum bag. It may be very full. If it is then remove the bag and replace it with a new bag. Check the suction power again. Has the suction improved?

4:Check the tube attachment. Completely remove it from the vacuum. You usually have to twist and pull the tube attachment out of place at the point where it connects to the back of the vacuum. Check the suction power again. This time you place your hand on the vacuum right where the tube used to come out of the back of the vacuum. Has the suction improved?

5:If the suction power has improved then you probably have a clogged tube. Dog hair, people hair, leaves and more can get lodged in the tube slowly over time and then suddenly block the tube completely.

6:Clean the tube by first trying to shake the debris out of the tube. If this does not work then go outside and run a hose through the tube. Use a pressure nozzle if you have one. Run the hose through one end of the tube. Then run it through the other end. Repeat until the debris is disloged. Dry the tube and then reattach to the vacuum.

7:Has suction power improved or returned to normal power? If yes then you can stop reading now. If not then read on.

8:Check the air hose in the base of the vacuum. This hose is usually pretty short and you can see if there is any blockage. If you see blockage then try to remove it. You may need to reach into the hose with a tool (like a screw driver or something long).

9:Has suction power improved or returned to normal power? If yes then you can stop reading now. If not then read on.

10:If you made it to this step then you may have a problem with the motor on your vacuum. If this is the case then you will need to take the vacuum in to a repair shop.

Things you will need :
1 Philips screw driver
1 flat head screw driver

Warning :

# Always unplug electrical devices before you work on them.

# Never work on electrical devices around water or when you are wet.

I hope this will help .

My dyson vacuum motor is sounding very high pitched... The tubes are all clear and there is suction with the tubes not not real good suction on the beater brush area....

Your dirt path is clogged, probably not far from the brush area. This is the reason you noticed the hi-pitch sound coming from the motor.

You may have to remove the hose to clear it.

Suction from hose isnt strong enough. Vacuum

There is probably a clog on the U channel (little Gray tube that attaches to the Vac tubing). Pull it loose and look in side all the tubing.

No suction - air blowing OUT from tube

Is the air blowing out of the pick-up tube or out of the exhaust tube on the unit? I am assuming the pick-up tube. The installer has hooked your system up to the exhaust tube on the unit. Hook up to the intake on the unit instead.

My kenmore centtral vac runs but does not ****. HELP11

#1 i assume u checked the bag and filter if so equipped?
#2 verify the hose is not plugged
#3 verify hard plumbing not plugged by taking something metal (quarter) and crossing the 2 little metal nubs at inlet (don't worry it is low voltage u wll not get shocked) it should ****
#4 if hard line plugged you may need a second vacuum to reverse flow
are all outlets not creating suction f so detach vacuum from piping and verify that vacuum is not the problem

Dyson DC 14 lost suction to beater bar/ suction to hose/stick

My Dyson DC14 had no suction...see if this works...turn the Dyson upside down...there is a length of hose that connects the bottom of the vacuum to the top, careful remove one end of the hose and check for debris...mine was clogged. Removed the clog and voila...it works. Thanks for the above info on checking the hose for cracks.
