errr.....No, no it does not. The Manual says that "unable to clean" means one of two things..... 1. The MFC has a mechanical problem.-OR-2. A foreign obstacle, such as a clip or ripped paper, is in the MFC. but regardless, I don't believe it *IS* a 'cleaning' problem per se.Try resetting the power purge counter.
On this machine you have to install inks with power on and use the ink button and choose replace ink. If you just plug them in it won't register and reset the counts. You may need to run clean cycles at least twice to get proper colors.
You cannot use the full driver and software package now. BUT: Printing is possible, scanning and FAX is not possible at the moment. You download the Vista driver (x32 or x64) from the official Brother site and install it with the Printer Wizard in Windows 7.

install memory card. press scanner button. choose scan:card and select quality and type. there are somemore infos given withi the software manual (which can be downloaded, too).
