Just go to Recovery Mode on your PSP (just turn it off by holding the reset button for 10 sec, then hold the R button and turn it on while holding it) then go to REGISTRY HACKS, then you will see there the option "BUTTON ASSIGN". just press over it x or o, then you'll be back to "x is enter"...

My son psp beep when you put a game in and the umd does not come up can you help please

f you are experiencing issues when using a Universal Media Disc (UMD™) on the PSP system, try these troubleshooting options:

  • Issues with PlayStation®Store content Click here for help with content purchased from the PlayStation Store.
  • Restore Default Settings Restore Default settings will default the PSP system to its original settings. A setting change may be the reason the PSP system is having difficulties. Click here to learn how to restore default settings on the PSPgo / PSP system.
  • Confirm UMD is properly inserted

Make sure the UMD is properly inserted with the label facing the back of the PSP system. Try removing the UMD and reinserting it.
Please note, it is normal for the PSP system to make noises while it is reading from a UMD.

For PSP-1001, slide the latch to open the UMD door. For the PSP-2001 and PSP-3001, simply lift the door open.

  • Try playing the UMD on a different PSP system If possible, try playing the UMD on a different PSP system. If the disc still does not function properly, it might need to be replaced. If the disc does function properly, the PSP system may need service, see PSP Service for details.
  • Try playing a different UMD on the PSP system If possible, try playing a different UMD on the PSP system. If another UMD plays, the original UMD may be the problem. If none of the UMD's play, the problem may be isolated to the PSP system.
  • Check for moisture Do not let the PSP system or any PSP® accessories come in contact with liquid. Also check for moisture condensation in the PSP system. If moisture condensation occurs, remove the disc from the PSP and do not use the PSP until the condensation has evaporated, which can take an hour or two. In general, if any part of the PSP gets wet, discontinue use until it is completely dry.
  • Check the regional code Check the regional code on the UMD™ Video. The only regional codes that the North American PSP® is tested to work properly with are "ALL" and "1.

Tried these steps and still need help?

If you have tried the troubleshooting information above, but continue to experience problems, please contact our Consumer Services department to have your PSP system serviced.

I forgot my password for my psp now i cant use it what can i do?

Hello gracielarobl

You will need to restore the default settings. To do this, follow the following instructions:

STEP 1

From the XMB home menu, go to Settings > System Settings > Restore Default Settings

STEP 2

The message "Do you want to restore default settings?" should appear. Select "Yes", and press the "X" button.

STEP 3

You will then see a message, "All settings will be returned to default settings. Are you sure you want to continue?". Select "Yes" and press the "X" button.

STEP 4

All settings are now restored and the system password is reset to "0000".

STEP 5

Press the "X" button to re-start the system.

STEP 6

Re-enter system settings as appropriate.

N.B. The Restore Default Settings feature will erase any previously saved settings and restore all the settings to default.

Hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to contact me should you require any further assistance.

Password

hey. well i just deleted everything on my PSP for you to figure out how to fix your problem, because i know how much of a pain that is =]. in order to get rid of the password, you must first go to the "Settings" icon all the way on the left. than scroll through that menu until you find the "System Settings" button. Than scroll through that menu until you find the "Restore Default Settings" button. If you click on that, your password will disappear and you can type in a new one. After you reset the PSP, you will have to type in the date, timezone, time, and PSP name all over again. Well Good luck =] glad i could help.
