I use a program that supports video conference. Like windows live messenger, yahoo or skype. They are all free. From there you can set up the web cam. They have an audio/video wizard that will atomatically recognize your systems cam and microphone and set it as your default device.

To help you we would need to know the make and model of your camera.
But... you can also Google the website of the camera manufacturer and then find the manual there.
Most all of the websites have all of the manuals and drivers for free...

There is a very easy way to download those pictures to your PC.
