NO - the camera should have a battery life for at least 2-3hrs for video taking and playback.
It does need to be in it's base to recharge properly , maybe the battery is low and , but , once charged fully you should be able to turn on/off many times.
Try letting the batteries run down very low - and then leave them charging for 7-10 hours. -- Ray
This is a very commen with Chinese stuff. The looks are perfect, but the quality is exactly otherwise. Sorry to hear of your prob. See if you can find a standard battery of a good brand with the same specifications. Its better to buy a good and expensive battery than go in for three low quality ones. Give it a thought.
Do you know if the charge light blinks when it charges or like mine it stays on untill charged then goes out, if it is blinking when it normally stays on during charging then it could indicate a fault ( usually with the ccd ) and could prove to be a costly repair if not under warranty, maybe worth getting checked out.

P.S. it could also indicate you have a faulty battery or ac adapter
All right if you have the same problem that i had what you need to do is take the battery out the take the memory card out the put the battery back in then try and turn it on if it works then put the memory card back in and it should be fixed
Hi if you had not used your notebook for sometime and kept it without charging the batt., then charge the batt fully probably for 12 or 14 hours and then switch it on .
The proper way of charging the battery on your phone is by waiting for your phone to indicate that it's running out of powe but not completelyr, if you frequently charge your phone even if it's not yet necessary(battery life indicator show half-way) the ability of the battery to store power will deminished hence the battery life is shorter. Last resort would be trying another battery unit to test if it's your battery of your phone that's causing the unsual battery drain.
Or you can try the following steps on conserving your phones battery life;
Turn off your Infrared and BlueTooth when not in use. Even when they are not in use, they do keep drawing power looking for signals.
Switch off the vibration alerts. Vibration causes a lot of power usage thereby making battery drain fast.
Re-adjust your screen brightness to around 50%. Screen power is another silent killer.
Usually, presetted Backlight durations are of pretty high order, this can be readjusted to get more from your battery. Try reducing the Backlight duration.
Often we don’t understand that playing games requires Light, Sounds and Shakes. This in turn leads to tripling of battery drainage.
Lower Ringing and other message sounds. This too helps saving a lot of battery.
Finally, do charge your battery before it gets drained fully. This enhances battery life.
* Be sure the battery is connected properly.
* Remove and replace the battery.
* Connect the power adapter and ensure the battery is fully charged.
* * The battery pack may be fully exhausted and require replacement. To ensure the life of your battery, be sure to remove it each time you are finished using the camcorder.
