Computers don't support SIM cards, so don't insert. If you are referring to an SD slot, just pick up an adapter. You can get a universal one on eBay real cheap.

Are you sure it is the SIM slot you are looking at? There may also be a memory card reader, which would be much bigger than a SIM card.

If you remove the laptop's main battery pack, you should find another slot hidden in the battery bay, which will be the correct size for a standard SIM card.

scrolling is a function of the touchpad driver, try downloading it and reinstalling the driver.
support.dell.com is where you can find the driver

Try re-installing the Touchpad Driver in the Computer.

download the latest drivers from dell.com

Any USB webcam is okay to install as long as it comes with a webcam driver that is compatible with windows7.
