You may try burn by CD to CD burn but if you want to select files that you want to burn, you have to ripped the music from the Music CD by using Window Media Player 10 or higher. Or try using software that ripped music from CD.
This is the instruction of CD to CD:
1. Insert the source disk 2. Then hit burn or copy to CD on your HP CD & DVD burner software or application. Then it will be temporarily copied to the hard drive. 3. after it finishes copying the source disk, you will be ask to insert a blank CD then hit continue or OK
Please reply or respond if this doesn't work so that I could provide you another solution and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Two thinhgs your software doe snot like the CD or you have wrong type of CD, make suer that if you using the CD for Music that you have the correct CD and same with Files...and all your setups are correct.
the only solution is to buty an external cd/dvd burner with a buffer under burn built in in use a decent burning program like nero, or nti or any other ones that let you choose the burn speed as I use 8x for cd's and dvd's but somtimes the burner won't alow me to change speed.
I know this is the one way or have the burner looked at by an engineer thats the other solution.
first off go to system information and find details of cd drive and write them down.
next click start, right click my computer, select properties, click hardware, click device manager.locate cd drive and delete.close all windows and restart.on restart system will detect new device and reinstall and more importly reconfigure.this should do the trick
Go to Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware tab>Device manager. Click the + by DVD/CD-rom drives, see if your CDrom is listed. If it is, right click on it, and select Uninstall.
Reboot, and WIndows should find it, and reload it. If it doesn't show up, good chance your CDrom is dead.
The answer is what you profess.
The drive can burn CD's, read CD's and also read DVD's. Everytime I try and burn a DVD I have an unrecognized drive and the properties always show no disk: The drive burns CD's ie;music, but cannot burn DVD it can only read DVD like you say!
Ok try this DO NOT insert the media until you have completed ya assembly... then tell it to "Burn" it will then ask for the media.. at this point insert ya CD... it should be "Detected" and ya Burn should proceed.I have had this work for me before.
Also try Alcohol 120% thats a great Burner. As well as CopytoDVD...
if you wish to burn cd's which is your burner then you need a software called nero burning rom or any other burning software that lets you burn data or audio cd's or vcd's to burn with if you wish to burn dvd's then you need a dvd burner combo drive which lets you burn dvds
