Sounds like a short in the unit. It can be taken apart and make certain all of the wires are tight. Not sure what what you mean by increase intensity but if it means you oull harder it may just be too much for the unit. Try not putting so much pressure on it. Good luck.

My remington straightener won't work properly. HELP?!

Try wiggling the lead where it goes into the straightener and then the plug. If it works it may be a broken cable in the lead

My conair infinityhair straightener just stopped heating up.it turns on but it dosent heat up.

This is a job for one with a multimeter and soldering iron. Remove the temperature knob and the plate below that. It will expose the inside of the top half of the Straightener. You will see two set of red and black wires soldered to a green circuit board. See if the soldering are intact and no wire has come loose . Now unsolder the red wires ( please note which wire goes where ). With the multimeter in the Ohms range ( X100 ) touch the probes on the red and black wires each and check for continuity. The red and black wires are two ends of the ceramic heaters. If they have failed , replace .

Dryer cord is burned up where it connects to the dryer can i still repair it

Hi shooby, Yes you can repair it,just open it the dryer then trace the line of burnt wire, then you find there a fuse. Check that fuse if not open,if open replace it with a new one with same amperage and voltage. Then you can put the new replacement wire there in the terminal connection.

My conair straightener won't heat up

that same thing is happening to me! but iv had mine for almost 2 years...exact same hair straightener, its happening to many people! i dont know if this is the problem but alot of people wrap their cords around their straighteners (i did too) and it twists the cord that conects to the hair straightener and makes it loose. i still have not found a way to solve this problem.

i would just go out and buy a new one, and if your looking for good but inexpensive i suggest vidal sassoon. they get really hot and have many settings and many different types. mine has worked greats

just remember not to wrap the cord

Power chord frayed and I need a new one for a conair hair iron CS36. The chord pivots in the handle 360 degrees.

go to (www.fixit.com/small apliance)
what I found out with my hair dryer (conair infinity model) was that there was a short at the plug and when I bent the wire a little to left or right the dryer would work. The plug is GFI protected that means there is a test and reset switch built in to the plug. There for for me to fix my hair dryer I would have to replace purchase order the whole cord. The cord assembly cost almost half the price it would cost to replace the dryer with a new dryer. I purchased a new dryer.

Hair Dryer cord has electrical shortage

IF you take off about a inch of wire from the plug and re-wire it [somtimes with new plug also] make sure to remember the fuse and this should do the trick.
