Grundig G2000A Clock Radio problem: Low battery indicator is blinking, I change the batteries with new ones but it still shows low battery and the radio does not work. I tried an adapter but nothing changed. Low battery indicator is blinking and the radio is not working.

Radio Shack does provide a volume control cleaner that you could gently spray to clean the contacts, but you may simply have a defective knob. (The first S350DL I bought had a defective volume control.) Don't hesitate to call Eton Customer Service either.

I hate to say this, but I've become a little wary of buying radios at Radio Shack. I have a suspicion that occasionaly radios that are returned get "recycled" back into stock rather than sent back to the manufacturer. I had to return 2 radios directly to Eton / Grundig after getting back to back defectives at RS.

SOURCE: Grundig Satellit 700 World Receiver. AM bands are dead.

Ist Local Oscillator (PLL) stops working. It's desiged with bare minimum feedback to keep it's output reasonably clean. Removing (De-soldering) the screening box reduces losses, but it's still marginal. Something in the osc. circuit is temperature sensitive, so squirting it with freezer spray - or putting the set in the 'frig will get it going again. Have one like this, "Repaired" - been going for about 5 years and just quit again! If I get any better luck next time, I'll re-post this!

On the rear where the power adapter plugs in, it should show in input voltage and polarity. Check the power supply output voltage with a volt meter. Generally, it is the sum total of all the batteries, so it if takes 4xAA @1.5 volt batteries the voltage would be 6 volts DC. It sounds like it is faulty.

There are two possibilities for this fault. The first one is with its battery itself. If the battery did not hold current, in otherwords, it has weak, proper charge both in volts and amperes won't hold on it, and when the device draw current from it while it works, voltage drop will occur, and low voltage indication will be displayed.
The second chance is due to the charger circuit inside the radio. If charger circuit do not give proper voltage and current to battery, the battery won't charge to its full capacity.
Check it by replacing it with a new battery [batteries] first. If it helps you it's OK. If not, your radio need service, and its charger circuit must be checked well. OK.

check the power plug used to connect the clock radio to the mains power,if it does not come on.then you have to open the back cover of the clock radio to check for blown fuses, because this are the common problem found in electronics appliances.
Also check the transformer with the use of an ohmmeter, to read if the components are okay.

Every PC motherboard has a battery. That battery serves two purposes: to feed the configuration memory (also called CMOS) and to feed the real time clock of the computer (the one that show the date and the time).
An indication it is time to change the motherboard battery is receiving one of the following error messages when you turn on your computer: CMOS CHECKSUM FAILURE, CMOS BATTERY STATE LOW, CMOS SYSTEM OPTIONS NOT SET and CMOS TIME AND DATE NOT SET. Problem was solved. When clock was plugged in after a few more days, it finally stopped flickering and reported an incorrect time and day. Low battery was now blinking!
