If you are using an integrated sound card you will want to check the way the inputs are configured as some integrated sound jacks share more then one function on the same jack.

I have an alpine cda9831 unit with 10" subs. I have an alpine v power m500 independently running them. The subs will randomly cut off and on and the wires to the head unit have been checked for loose...

so you have already ensured that there are no crossed/loose wire strands.

you are running 2 subs off a single alpine mono amp.

if subs are 4 ohms apiece, you should be fine. if you have 2 ohm subs, or you have dual voice coil subs and you are running all the voice coils parallel, then there is your problem. you can have a maximum of a 2 ohm (2x4 ohm speakers= 2 ohms.) load with that amp.

ensure that the subs are 4 ohms apiece, and that you are not using dual voice coils. if the subs have 2 inputs (dual voice coils) then only use 1 input apiece.

if this is already taken care of, then your amp is defective.

Realteck mic problem

Well, if it's working when you record sound, then there might be settings related problem with the skype or yahoo messenger etc... Let's get started with the "skype" open your skype - sign in - click on "tools" select "options", on the left pane of the options windows, click "audio settings" and now on the right pane, check the "microphone" settings and verify it's set to "Realtek High Definition Audio", if it's not, do so now. click "Save". You can set the volume manually by uncheking the "automatically adjust microphone settings" and turn up the volume slider. Do the same with the yahoo messenger, but you can't set this before you log in. In yahoo messenger you need to go to the "preferences" - "Video and Voice" from the "Messenger" menu. Also make sure, that "digital input or output" isn't selected.
Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Yahoo Messenger 9.0 Voice Chat Drops

Normal 0 Also send this to your family and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
Yahoo Setup:

After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.
Hope this helps. Bud

Vista and yahoo voice compatability

Hi,

I had the same problem(s) with Vista and Yahoo Chat. I ended up with a simple workaround that doesn't involve downloading codecs etc., from 'suspicious' places, that may or may not work with your particular flavor of Vista..

First, go here: http://www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/2008/05/29/new-release-of-yahoo-messenger-90-beta/ and get the newest Yahoo Messenger 9.

Then go into a Yahoo Chat room. (I'd suggest one of the romance ones as there are usually quite a few attention strarved women and desperate men chatting away on mics.) When you click on the "Voice" button, you'll probably see this,
"this computer does not appear to have input, or it is not configured correctly" (which doesn't seem a whole lot better than the original compression issues,) BUT, all you have to do is plug in a microphone and everything works just tickety-boo. If you don't have a mic, just plug some headphones INTO the INPUT for the mic. You'll still hear everything just fine through your speakers.

It's not an ideal solution but unless someone out there remembers more than I do about their days as a 'sound guy' for local bands, it shouldn't do any harm.

Good luck.
