You must lock the aperture ring to f/22, so the camera can engage the aperture adjustment lever on the lens. Then, you can change the aperture with the command wheel.

When you change the aperture with the command wheel the aperture ring on the lens doesn't move when the camera actually adjusts the lens aperture.

Take the lens off and locate the aperture adjustment lever on the lens mount.

Unfortunately, this won't work with older AF lenses. So if you are using an older lens, the only thing you can do is change the camera setting to M (Manual) to adjust the aperture on the lens yourself.

Lock lens aperture ring at minimum aperture

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its minimum setting (largest f/number). If there is an orange slide on or near the ring, slide it so that the aperture ring doesn't turn.

Error message

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number). You can control the aperture from the camera body, the same way as with a lens without an aperture ring.

The aperture ring is the one with a bunch of numbers on it such as 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, and 22.

Message to lock f at highest with d5000

That depends on what "this" lens is.

In all cases, turn the aperture ring to its smallest setting (largest f/number). If there's a red or orange slide near the aperture ring, that's the lock. Slide it to keep the aperture ring from turning. If there is no slide then don't worry about it.

You should now be able to set the aperture from the camera body, the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

What does fee mean on a 35mm camera

If it's on an SLR then it means the lens is not set to its minimum aperture. Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest opening (largest f/number) and lock it if it has a lock. You control the lens aperture from the body, exactly the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

The f stop say ee

You're apparently using a lens with an aperture ring. Turn it to its smallest aperture (largest f/number). You control the aperture from the camera body, the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

If the lens doesn't have an aperture ring, clean the electrical contacts on the back of the lens and in the lens mount.

I have just bought a 60mm micro lens. when i put the lens on my Nikon D50 the message FE3 appears on the screen. i have tried taking of the lense and putting it back on but the message still appears.

I hope you mean FEE.

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number). If the ring has a lock, lock it in place. You control the aperture from the camera body, just as you would on a lens with no aperture ring.

What does the flashing message "fEE" on the display of my D70s mean?

It means that you have a lens with an aperture ring connected and the aperture ring is not set at its smallest aperture.

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it if the ring has a lock. Control the aperture from the body, just as you do with a lens without an aperture ring.

Error message FEE on aperture

Make sure the lens is mounted on the camer fully. Make sure the aperture ring is set for the largest numbe like 22 or 32 if the lens has it. Some lenses have a lock to lock the aperture ring on the largest number for you. Also make sure the lens you are using is compatible with the F65 camera. if the lens is older then it will not give you any electronic data and the camera will never give you the f information in the viewfinder.

My Nikon N60 35 mm camera shows the fEE message

Your lens is not set to the smallest aperture (highest number). Turn the camera off, rotate the aperture ring so the largest number is lined up with the mark on the top, push the aperture lock tab, and turn the camera back on. The aperture ring is the one closest to the camrea body with numbers like 4, 5.6, 8, 11 etc on it. The largest number will be 16, 22, or 32 for most lenses.  If it still doesn't work, turn off, remove & replace the lens, and recheck the aperture ring setting.
