Install my HP D1520 printer on XP

Here is a video from HP explaining the process. IF you followed this procedure and are getting errors, then you may have bigger issues. I am assuming you are using genuine HP ink, not remanufactured or refilled cartridges.

The F300 is a SERIES of printers from HP, not a specific printer. You can Google your specific printer model, ie: "Deskjet F340 driver" and you will get a direct link to HP support where you can download and install it.

Maybe the printer driver you are using is not compatible with the windows version you have on your system. I would go to the HP web site and see if there is a driver for your printer and check the connection to your laptop

The same driver software is used by the D2500 printer series, of which your D2560 is one model. So the "D2500 series" drivers are correct.

Make sure you downloaded the correct drivers for your Vista version, 32-bit or 64-bit. The links are to the HP site drivers page for your printer. Also, HP printers often will not work if you connect the printer before installing the drivers. The setup guide and CD both mention this, but it is sometimes overlooked. Try uninstalling the HP software and following the process again, and make sure the printer is not connected until you are instructed to connect it.

These steps will install the proper drivers so Vista can use the printer. If the printer still is not working, please post a follow-up comment with more information: error messages, indicator lights, print quality problems, etc.

Ok. Unhook printer
Go to Start, Control Panel, Unintsall programs.
Look for your Printer.
Uninstal that Printer.

ok u have to first install the proper printer dirver but u install the driver u can not connetc the printer in computer first u can install the printer dirver and than after u have to connect the printer after the connect the printer u have to take the tast print...

It's suggested to un-install the software & reinstall. Follow these instructions. Some files are corrupt & need to be re-installed.

Disconnect the USB cable from the printer only.
Insert the printer CD.
When prompted, click Remove and wait for the software to un-install.
Click, Finish to complete the un-install process.
Click, Yes when prompted to restart Windows.
Windows needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect.
Wait for system to fully finish loading.
Do not plug in the USB cable until instructed to do so.
Load the HP printer CD. Follow CD's instruction for install.
When completed re-start the system even if the software
has not instructed you to.
Check if the service tab function?
