I bought a HP D1520 series printer, and it won't finish the install process. I get the following message: E:setuphpzmsi01.exe-listproduct-L-ENU-f
C:\WINDOWS\hpins26.dat-Validate No-w183

Using the SubInAcL tool from Microsoft to fix permission issues in the registry has solved installation errors for several products including this
Download SubInACL
InstructionsIn the File Download dialog box, do one of the following:
once that is installed then copy this not including
-----------------------------------------------
subinacl/subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f
subinacl/subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f
subinacl/subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f
subinacl/subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f
subinacl/subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=system=f
subinacl/subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=system=f
subinacl/subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive%/grant=system=f
-------------------------------------------------------
and Paste it in to Notepad and then Save as RESET.BAT in the "C:Program FilesWindows Resource KitsTools" in that folder and then run that by clicking on it twice
then restart the system
remove any Hp printer program from the system (from add and remove) and then restart once again
then Install the Hp software
How 'bout just dump in the garbage where it belongs and buy something else? Much easier than the 42 steps given above.
