My ion discover dj decks worked fine until i tried to use an external usb sound card alongside it for the headphones, now, even with the usb sound card removed,i am unable to have 2 of the audio outputs as left/right. within the audio settings within the cross discover dj software,so when mixing you can only hear one decks and the cross fader is not working. I have tried a system restore, but it has not fixed the problem. I tried the decks on my desktop pc and the settings had changed on there too now and it has the same problem. I am now worried that the sound card has corrupted the decks. Any ideas on how i can get the settings to say left/right on 2 outputs when an external mixer is in use?
Re: My ion discover dj decks worked fine until i tried to...
I would do a uninstall of anything Made by ion and Re install and see if that solves your issue, Ion isnt a very good dj product so something as simples as this could screw something up. try a fresh install and please let me know what happens and ill assist you from there

It apparently works with USB and requires no further downloads to get it to work.
There IS however a software CD that should've came with it; hopefully your friend gave you that CD too. That CD (according to their video on ION's home site found here, inserting that software disc into the computer is one of the steps to getting the DJ turntable system to work.
If you registered your TTs with ION, they try calling the company and explain your situation. They should help you. If they cannot, your best bet is to have family or friends retrieve your license key back in LA and send it to you. If that is not an option or if you need to mix immediately, you might have to purchase a new license, or find a crack.
I believe that only ONE audio system can be active at once so what you are observing MAY be normal. The pro DJ units have two seperate CD players and are set up to cue with headphones. See if you have a "cue" control on your system... Often the clue to these problems is in the manual which one needs to know the name of the function to search for. Learning the language is the key as indexes are useless without the "word".
the outputs in Traktor should be set up like this; Chanel 1 (3&4) Chanel 2 (2&1) this set up will give you a stereo sound coming out of Traktor using Numark DJ IO. Make sure the output is set up External and the Audio Devise is Numark DJ IO.
