Only power light goes on when I reconnect to electricity. WLAN and LAN lights stay off

It sonds like you are ethernet connected to the Edimax from your home computer. Can you access a wireless connection? If so Try This:
Unplug the ethernet connection between the PC and the router. Exchange the connection (The ethernet connected to the PC place it in the Edimax and Put the connection from the Edimax into the PC) Check to see if you have a connection light on both devices.
Reboot you Edimax and PC. First turn on the PC and let it power up to the desktop. Once the PC is on then power on the Edimax. Now check to see if you have a connection. If these steps don't work I suggest you try replacing the ethernet plug connected between both devices.

Good luck!

How to retrieve password from wireless access point router zyxel -570u

Initial Set-Up
Plug your wireless router into the cable connection in your wall. Plug the connection cord into the "WAN" port on the router. Plug the router's power source into the wall and turn the router on. Connect your wireless access point to your router by pushing one end of an Ethernet cord into the WAP. Push the other end of the Ethernet cord into the "LAN" port on the router. The WAP connects your wireless devices to your router.
Connect your laptop or computer to the WAP. Click the "Start" button on your computer and then click "Control Panel." Click "Network and Internet" and then select "Network and Sharing Center." The "Network and Sharing Center" window opens.
Click "Set up a wireless router or access point." Click the "Next" button.
Follow the prompts to create a wireless pass phrase or security key. Write the key down in a safe location to ensure access later, if required.

We have more than one computor in the house and we have reset arris box in order to connect........... in the process the computor that is connected will get booted off the internet...isnt it possible to...

All the computers in the house should connect to the netgear wireless.

The netgear should in turn connect to the arris modem.

And yes, all the computers should be able to access the internet at the same time when setup this way. You shouldn't have to reset the modem at all.

Computer cabled to Dynex enhanced G wireless will not connect

Unplug the router for ten seconds and plug it back in, it needs to reset. Some routers have a reset button. I often wait longer than ten seconds, I find a beer is usually the right amount of time. Sometimes the modem needs a reset also; unplug everything, then plug back in sequence, with the modem first, the wait, then the router, wait, then turn on your computer. That system works for any brand modem and router.

Wireless ethernet from a wired router?

You can buy a wireless access point to plug into your router. The thing is, you can buy a new router with wireless built in for about the same price. It's up to you to shop and compare.

In either case, you will need to configure the wireless, and create a WEP key to share with the wireless in the computer(s). The new wireless will come with instructions.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

No wireless

You will need to reconfigure your wireless access point to work with your home network. You will need to plug an ethernet cable from your computer into the wireless access point and open a web browser. Depending on your wireless access point, point your browser to http://192.168.0.1 and see if it connects. You should be able to configure it from there. If you have more questions, you might want to refer to the hardware manual you received with the unit or from the manufacturer's website. Good Luck!
